Happy monday! It's a rainy one here and we've been enjoying it with cuddles, stories and cups of tea!
I love our little home - and with only two bedrooms it means our little ones will have to share. Yes, one might wonder if they'll sleep well being in the same room, or how Ada will take to having to share her space... but I've also been trying to work out how I will make two beds, a change table, all their clothes, linen, toys etc work in such a small space (3 x 3 metres without build in cupboards).
Until recently, Ada slept in a beautiful sleigh cot... and I mean beautiful - my parents managed to find it for me when I was pregnant with Ada and I adore it - but it's huge (I'll have to post a photo sometime!). In order for the room to work, we purchased a much more streamlined, inexpensive cot from Ikea - both the beds are shown below. I know alot of people say they never used a change table but I always use mine, even now. Our plan is to use a large chest of drawers/dresser big enough to hold all of the children's clothes, which can also function as a change table.
So here is my little collage for the room: the two prints featured below I've made pillows/cushions out of. The floral one looks quite pink in the photo, but in real life, the darker pink flowers are more of a red tone. This one is on Ada's bed. I love the yellow chevron too! A flat-woven rug will (hopefully) cover our icky old carpet!

So I'm in the mood for a little decorating... so I thought I might share a little inspiration board with y'all.
Up until this point, I haven't been particularly 'brave' with my colour ideas, for multiple reasons somewhere in between my preference for neutrals and my complete lack of decorating budget ;-)
Now pink is not normally on my agenda, nor is a 'mod/retro' interior... but I think the winds are a-changing! Keep in mind my floors are a fairly dark polished wood and my walls cream/beige (with white trim). And though I'd love to swap them out for some natural/latte fabric couches, for now we've got dark brown leather.
What do you think?

I hope you are having a lovely 2011 so far - can you believe that January is almost over already? Must put on my running shoes to keep up (at least they'd be used that way!) ;)
I am wanting to get back on the blogging band wagon - not that I'm sure I was ever properly on it. 2011 will see some exciting moments for us. Namely, a little brother/sister for Ada due in July. This has meant that for the past nearly four months I have not been doing a thing re. making shoes etc... slack I know.
Anyhow, on to the point of this post! Today we attended a baby shower for a mummy to be named Anna. She's having a girl so of course I decided to make her a little pair of shoes!
Here are the 'Anna' shoes:
They feature a fun geometric print and hand torn chiffon bows. Faux leather soles (suitable for walkers) and organic cotton lining. They are available to order.

Sometimes life takes over. 'Mind over Matter'?
Do you ever realise that you're losing focus on the most important things? Surely I'm not the only one! Perhaps what I mean, is that the business/tiredness of life seem to cloud what were once plans/dreams/imagination?
It's nothing seriously really... but sometimes I stop to realise that the plans I'd made, have been lost somewhere in the world that is my head!
Things haven't taken off quite as I'd imagined (not that people have been cold, but that I simply haven't done as much as I'd wanted). My plans were grand - Etsy store and blog running consistently and me churning out the little items with love. I am, more than ever, wanting this to happen... but firstly, I am wife and mummy :)
Wow this has turned a bit heavy... ;) I just wanted to thank you for being patient with my slack blogging and primarily, for being supportive of my product. Definitely can't do any of this without you! Today I am reminding myself to be kind, to love and to make the most of every day!

Yes please! After our string of cold days/nights and rain, I'd love a little summer warmth... but for now, a little pair of sunny shoes will have to do ;) They remind me of lemonade, and summer... hence how they got their name. They sport little yellow stripes and a soft rope that ties up around your little girl's ankles.

It's rainy here, so we are enjoying it with cuddes, some sewing and of course, a cup of tea (or five!).
The Gracie shoes are finished and available for purchase! There is only one pair at this stage, in a size 4. To fit approximately 12-18 months, but you're probably safer to go with measurements... So - the soles measure approx. 12 cm.
They are made of pewter crushed velvet, with organic cotton lining. They close with a velcro strap and are finished with a black, raw edge satin bow. I think they'd look so cute teamed with little distressed jeans and a black and white striped top! A little parisian baby perhaps :)
This particular pair will be $10 as the pattern is still being perfected. They are a little too wide, but still totally cute and more than fine to wear (they are probably great for a baby with wide feet :) ) Please email me if you would like them. It's gonna have to be first in, best dressed! Quite literally ;)

I've decided today to share a little secret.
I've been working on something for you... or rather, for your little girl.
So here is just a little sneak peak...
The 'Gracie' shoes are made of gold/pewter crushed velvet and have flexible faux leather soles (suitable for walkers). They're not yet finished however... so stay tuned!
I'm currently putting together a little collection of baby/toddler's shoes that will be available to purchase.

Today I want to trust God... but sometimes it's really hard! (Or is that just me?!)
I'm feeling a bit strung out lately - hubby is short of work and things don't seem to be going to plan. I know, I really should have a nice big slice of humble pie for dinner. After all, my plan isn't THE plan....
